And it is important not just in music, but in many mediums. Without sampling, we wouldn’t have so many great hip hop beats. Double check that with an analyzer.Ever heard of a little something called sampling? It’s where you take something old and great and redefine it with a modern lens. I'm not sure if this cuts off anything from the spectrum, but it should be of better quality than using a youtube ripper website that puts '320kbps' in the track title but actually still is just a 128kbps rip. Play the audio (meaning, play the entire song) and record it. Get some screen/audio recording software that allows you to record in 320kbps.
If you still want to rip (which you really shouldn't) one very time consuming method could be getting a music service subscription (Apple Music, Spotify etc) with a 320kbps streaming option. Like others said, music really is cheap, just buy it. I bought a few 'top 100' compilations for around $8.99 each - not all of the songs are good, but if you just calculate back that a single song costs $0.99, the compilation only has to have 8 songs that you would have otherwise bought, the other 92 songs are 'free'. Look for compilations which can hold a multitude of songs for just a couple of bucks. įirst of: just buy the music, most outlets charge like $0.99 per song. Then ask yourself if a bunch of drunk ppl at the bar care about a little reverb on the highs. Their equipment isn't usually that high-end to begin with. Youtube quality is just fine for little bars and clubs. So they already know and love the songs in 128-192kbps.Īdjusting the EQ for audio quality is necessary anyways, especially if you go back and forth between older tracks and newer ones. None of them people are buying 320kbps mp3s, most just listen to songs on pandora, spotify, YT, etc. Then, in a club or party, you gotta cut the highs down anyways so ppl don't gotta yell too much over the music. Only us audiophiles notice things like that. 95% of people can't tell the difference between lossless FLAC and 128kbps. You need big venues and equipment to really appreciate the highs and the reverb. While technically correct, it is a negligible difference for anyone playing at home or in small venues.
